Memorial day a.k.a. Decoration day is a federally recognized holiday in the United States of America. It is a day of reflection. A day set aside for remembering the fallen soldiers which have fought for and served our country. This holiday is observed on the last Monday of the month of May.
Many people visit cemeteries and memorials, particularly to honor the fallen soldiers who have died in military service. Many Volunteers also place American flags on graves of the soldiers in the national cemeteries.
This post is an homage to their bravery and dedication to this wonderful country. The USA is far from perfect but it is home. We must never forget their sacrifices and the freedoms and liberties we are afforded.
To all the fallen, the brave men and women who have served this country – R.I.P.
